Reasons For Cleaning Your Fence

There are many reasons why you may want to or should clean your fence. For example, if your fence is dirty looking and grey. You may want to give it a cleaning to spruce it up a bit and get it back to its original color.

Another example may be, in order to stain the fence thus protecting the wood from the elements you would need to clean the fence first. This is an important factor if you want the stain to last. If you want the stain to last it must have a clean surface to adhere to. Also without a proper waterproof stain, your fence can start to rot. No-one wants this.

How Do We Clean Fences?

We first start out by applying a special soap to the fences surface that loosens mold, mildew and that weathered grey look free from the surface.

Then we use steam to pressure wash the fence and not only remove the old grey look, but also deep clean the wood.

Fence Staining Chicago

After letting the fence dry for a couple days we come back and apply a semi-translucent stain to the wood to protect the fence from the rain and UV rays that made it look like that in the first place.

Although, you do not have to get this step done. For instance, if you are selling a property and want to keep your cost down. However, we do strongly recommend this service. We apply the stain by hand. On one hand, it is the best way to work the product into the wood. On the other hand, it is a little labor intensive.
